About Leah Bienstock P.A.
Leah Bienstock is board certified by the NCCPA and is a licensed Physician Assistant. She graduated from Michigan State University in 1994 with a degree in psychology. Subsequently, she attended Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale; receiving her Physician Assistant degree with Honors in 1998. During her six years of post-graduate work in family medicine Leah excelled by developing a strong patient following and earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She then worked for two years for a general dermatology practice in a multi cultural environment; handling a broad spectrum of dermatologic pathology. Through this experience, she developed proficiency in addressing the unique challenges in treating skin of color. Although Leah works with all general skin, hair, and nail diseases; she specializes in the treatment of skin of color, acne, dark spots, psoriasis, and eczema. Additionally, Leah is proficient in the removal of moles and leg veins, using a technique known as sclerotherapy. She carries a certificate in the Art and Science of Botox and the Art of Dermal Fillers for facial rejuvenation. In May 2006, Leah published Actinic Keratoses: Sequelae and Treatments in The Journal of Family Practice, an article focused on the treatments of pre-cancerous skin lesions.
Leah presently works alongside a very prestigious Dermatologist; a pioneer in Cosmetic Dermatology and the use of lasers for all skin tones. Leah serves as a speaker for pharmaceutical companies, such as Amgen Pharmaceuticals, Coria Laboratories, and the Warner-Lambert Company; she gives lectures about the use of dermatological drugs manufactured by these companies. In addition, Leah is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, The American Academy of Physician Assistants and The New Jersey Society of Physician Assistants.
Leah continues to be committed to the advancement of her education and experience in the fields of cosmetic and general dermatology. She travels widely to attend lectures and seminars & remains up-to-date on technologies, treatments and industry standards through the American Academy of Dermatology. She spends her free time with her husband, Douglas Bienstock D.O., her two sons Aaron and Zachary, and her dog Max (a lovable Lab-chow mix). She enjoys skiing, reading and the theatre.
